A Tiger Thinking Hard - September 4, 2026

Dear Reader,

For sometime now, I've toyed with the idea of writing in a world outside the dream. I've even started and stopped several projects long before completion. Nothing holds my attention the way the dream has always done. The problem lies in my inability to build a larger audience for the Draoithe Saga. It makes me wonder if I should channel my limited energy into something new.

The day job is no longer as stable as it once was. I'm no longer as young either. If it's possible for me to exit the corporate world and arrive in a business of one, the time left to discover the keys to make that happen grows short.

I never want to retire. I merely wish to pivot into something I created, that I built. At one point, I thought perhaps the dream of working for myself wasn't mine, that maybe I should simply carry on with the status quo. But if that were true, why does the idea never settle?

I'm left facing the idea that what I wanted to achieve has a path, but the way I originally believed it should happen must alter. I won't stop writing, editing, or publishing in the dream, but I must look at more ways to tell stories.

Bear with me as I reassess my situation and the ways I might pivot. Thank you for your support. I'm not going anywhere, but I might need to do some things radically differently than I have been doing. I hope I can count on you to continue stepping into the dream while I learn how to move things forward into a better light..

Project Updates:

I want to serialize a new story on Substack every Saturday, beginning in September. I haven't decided on the story yet, but look for the podcast to start the new serial beginning on the second Saturday.

I also hope to add songs inspired by the stories in the Valkyrie Riders beginning in September as well. If I can produce one song a month, I will be happy with the progress, but I hope to sneak a few faster over long holidays. Cross your fingers, I can complete that project before summer 2027 opens.

I want to finish the Druid Dominion miniseries and publish the last title, Dream Therapy, after Blood Dark wraps. The timeline looks like the end of the year. That will give the dream 4 complete miniseries bundles. As always, Draoithe Saga subscribers will have access long before book buyers. The dream continues to expand even as I look deeper into expanding its audience. My commitment to continue the Draothe Saga until the last story is finally told remains unchanged.
