Writing Without Regrets - July 10, 2026
Dear Reader,
The creative life is strange. I can make plans, map out a strategy to achieve goals, and even keep most of my publishing promises. But following a set in stone writing schedule will probably never happen. My muse bounces from one shiny object to the next. She is always adding to the list of chores, but rarely ever deleting any.
I follow a rigid structure with the day job; my storytelling is the polar opposite. And that doesn't seem to have slowed down the tiger one damn bit. If I ever escape the day job, I doubt things will change in that regard. Still, I have built something.
I get a glimpse of the way I would like to live as a storyteller for a few weeks each summer. It's as wild as you might imagine. When inspiration strikes, I write. When it's not there, I play with the stories in the dream, creating art, music, and videos. I water my flowers, bake my bread, cook soup in the crockpot, and tool around my neighborhood on my bike in the evenings.
I doubt anything will ever replace the high of writing, but playing with the world I built gets me as close to that as possible. Like all addicts, I chase the next fix. Luckily for me, I have the day job to pay the bills and family that pretends to understand my obsession with the dream.
Someday, I'll live a life where the work I do doesn't require me to seek an escape. I might have time to set up a table at a local craft fair and sell a few books. Eventually, I will get to live a slow-cooker life, and I will settle into the dream entirely.
Find what you love and do that. Live without regrets. I'm not the best writer. My stories won't appeal to everyone. But I don't wonder: what if? I have thoroughly enjoyed writing them and fully intend to carry on.
Don't you want to know how it all ends? Me too.
Behind the Scenes

I stepped into the Dread Desire miniseries after uploading the last of the audio files for The Monarch. That took forever. There was an issue with Spotify, and the files had to be uploaded again. If you ever wanted to know why I simply never do preorders. Stuff like that is exactly why.
When I opened the files for Shadow Runes, I thought I was ready. prepared to handle the last edit because I'd done the read-through just before I began posting the chapters of The Monarch. Imagin my surprise when I completed chapter two and realized the story needed a scene added.
It took all day on Monday, but I wrote it. Sumeye needed a more involved bit of backstory, and she definitely has it now. The first few chapters are currently available to Draoithe Saga subscribers. I will post more soon and have high hopes that it will be ready to publish as the book by the end of the weekend.
Summer bullet train rides are great for publishing productivity. Welcome to the dream…

Thank you for stepping into the dream once more. If you are listening on YouTube, don't forget to like and subscribe for more original stories and audio adventures! Special thanks to @OkMusicWriters for Enter The Dream. I'm neck-deep in bookish stuff, editing and posting chapters of Shadow Runes and writing scenes in Venom Dark. Leave your comments and questions. I'd love to hear from you. If you found this post worthy, please feel free to share it. I hope you have a lovely weekend and will discover a grand story. Please remember when you read, be kind and leave your reviews. Until my next post, welcome to the dream...
