The Look Back - 2025
Dear Reader,
Before we get into the post, I wanted to thank everyone, new and long-time readers alike. You have always made the dream more than anything I can manage alone. Sharing the stories with you adds a pure audience magic no writer may possess.
I started this wild-ride-passion project way back in 2016, and it has come a long way from a handful of stories, the discovery of the end of a Google doc, and my failed attempt to publish a manuscript without a cover in early 2018. But we would need an hour-long documentary for all that. We should focus this brief post on a little smaller scale.
In Publishing
This year has been one helluva ride! In 2025, I published 1 new flash fiction tale, The Last Train Whistle, which is exclusive to OpheliaKee.com, in the LARKS North Collection.
I also published the final 4 novellas in the Valkyrie Riders Miniseries wide: Dark Gift, Smoldering Frost, Electric Storm, and Eternal Love. I made the ebook and audiobook bundles for the Valkyrie Riders Miniseries available for my binge readers as well. The print bundles are coming. I just got side-tracked. Forgive me, and if you're waiting, I promise they will all be signed copies!
In the Lyons Gate Miniseries, I moved closer to the end with the publication oft wo novellas, Nightmare Escape and Druid Dragon.
I finally got Dread Desire Miniseries started with the first two novelettes, First Demon and Shadow Crown. That felt as if it took years because it actually did.
And last but not least, I published the novel Fire Incarnate in the Druid Dominion Miniseries.

Behind the Scenes
The muse wanted Book Hangover remedies. I went back and created Draoithe Saga After Party videos for every title and added them to the Draoithe Saga subscription.
Then came the story explainers. And once again, arguing with a tiger is pointless, so the Draoithe Saga Story Skeletons came into existence and have all been added to every title in the Draoithe Saga subscription as well.
And then the tiger found infographics, which have a home in the Draoithe Saga subscription, but were also added to each book's description on OpheliaKee.com.
Not only were timelines and character lists added to each story in the Draoithe Saga subscription, but character interviews and main character introduction videos along with the story descriptions and book quotes became standard for all titles. Character art and frontispieces are also currently for sale as digital downloads from OpheliaKee.com.
Marketing and promotion, as always, got left by the wayside as I worked on all these other projects. I still don't really ever pay for advertising. The learning curve is steep, and the day job consumes my time are the lies I tell myself so I can focus on writing and storytelling.
Still, I expanded my pinning on Pinterest and increased and organized all the videos on YouTube. I still post on X (formerly Twitter). Also, I'm still heavily invested in Substack, with the bulk of my posting, serialized fiction, and social media happening on the Podcast, in the stacks, and on Notes, then shared out to other social sites.
Because of a recent request for me to submit a story to an anthology, I have also been more active on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. The story has been submitted, and I await a response on publication timelines. Cross your fingers for me. Whether my continued presence in the Meta realm wanes remains to be seen.
There's still a bit of cleanup to be done for my author pages Books2Read and Book Bub, but I should have 2025 wrapped up in a neat package before the New Year.
