Kings Wilde Now Arriving in June - May 29, 2026
Dear Reader,
It's finally summer! Today is the last day before I hop on the bullet train and ride it through the dream for a couple of months. I'm making a few changes to the format for Ophelia Kee Speaks just to ensure I'm not repeating information in the Draoithe Saga News, and shorter is better. I hope you enjoy this latest format. But don't get comfortable. You know the muse is never satisfied.
Today's date reminded me that a story I had once hoped to publish back in December of last year is still waiting in the wings. Please allow me to indulge in nostalgia for a moment as I re-introduce the Kings Wilde Miniseries with volume 1, The Monarch. I'm almost six months late getting it into the light of day, but The Monarch will be the next published title. Things will move fast this summer. Hang on to your seats.
If you love a mix of gritty mafia drama and supernatural romance, you need to check out The Monarch. Set in Juneau, Alaska, the story revolves around thirty-three-year-old Armand King. Armand, also known by his street moniker "Owl", is a ruthless businessman working tirelessly to legitimize the Wilde crime family's underworld empire. Following a divorce from his ex-wife Rachel, Armand finds his life spiraling into chaos, plagued by missing memories, raging anger, and a soul-crushing dark pressure he struggles to control.
Desperate to get his life back on track, he takes the advice of his best friend, Nicklaus Wilde—who hides his own dark secret as a wendigo—and books a session with a hypnotherapist. Enter Dr. Savannah Mesmer, a brilliant psychologist who is also a fifty-two-year-old immortal eagle owl shifter.
From the moment Armand walks into her office, the chemistry is instant and the sexual tension is thick enough to cut with a knife. Armand makes his attraction known immediately, boldly complimenting his beautiful doctor and constantly asking her out on dates. Savannah stubbornly refuses to cross professional boundaries or date her patients, especially since she is desperate to avoid the dangerous mafia lifestyle she fled from her own family.
However, as Savannah hypnotizes Armand to uncover the root of his blackouts, she discovers he possesses terrifying and inexplicable abilities, including stepping into the minds of others, summoning a medieval sword, and wielding black and purple fire. After consulting with a powerful dreamwalker, Savannah unearths a mind-blowing secret about her patient. Armand is actually a rare druid mage, descending from an ancient line of kings, and his untamed magic is the true source of his dark cravings and memory gaps.
The stakes are raised even higher when Savannah, flying as a wild owl one night, spies on Armand and accidentally links minds with him. During the dizzying encounter, he inadvertently tasted the blood from her feathers, unknowingly activating ancient shifter magic that identified him as her eternal lifemate.
Will Armand master his dangerous druid magic and claim his rightful place as the king of his castle? Will Savannah break her strict professional rules for her fiercely protective patient, or will she pack her bags and flee to Anchorage to protect her immortal secrets from the criminal underworld?

Behind the Scenes

When an author falls down a rabbit hole with research, you never know what might result. In this case a crazy walk through the nicknames commonly associated with playing cards yielded the inspiration for an entirely new miniseries in the Draoithe Saga. Unlike miniseries such as the Druid Dominion or Darkened Kings, which have all the manuscripts written, Kings Wilde is what I call a live miniseries. I haven't published all the completed miniseries, but I have finished their storylines in my mind.
Kings Wilde is farther from completed even than Mystic Dark, but the first story is done. The muse wants to share it. Like other live miniseries, it may take time to finish writing and editing, but Armand King needs to move his story out of the dark to make room for the other stories to coalesce with the magic. In keeping with following the muse and expanding the dream, I'm finally beginning the publishing process.
