A Tiger in the Snow - February 6, 2026

Dear Reader,

As the dust settles from publishing Gryphon Knight Atoned, I am sitting in Florida, shivering as I write this. It's cold everywhere when Florida freezes over. When I step outside, I can see my breath in the still dark of an overcast night. No one but me is out as I walk the dog for the last time before we head in for the night. I'm envying his fur coat as I clutch my shall tighter over my sweater.

I may have been in Florida too long. Maybe I just got old, but the cold makes my bones ache, and I don't care for it anymore. I love to see snow through a thick-paned window with a roaring fire in the hearth behind me while I sip my hot chocolate. But the frosty air that comes with the fluffy white blanket may depart from me as if it were a demon and I breathed holy water with my exorcist prayers.

I'm taking a minor break from publishing more chapters while I get some art and promotional stuff cleared up. I always get too excited by new ideas for the dream, and then I have too many irons in the fire at the same time. If the pesky day job wasn't in my way, maybe I wouldn't need to divide my attention and slow my pace, but things are what they are. It's time I got serious about making the videos I want to create for the books. I'm off to torture an AI chatbot and wrangle some ideas into some sort of promotional content.

Gryphon Knight Atoned Slide Deck Intro

I created these awesome images as part of a gorgeous slide deck for the story. They aren't the correct size for a carousel, and they're in the wrong format for use as images or videos. They are too cool for me to ignore. This is where I want to go wild and make videos. I might just build them and publish them on YouTube. Look for more of the muse's shenanigans coming soon!

I really need to finish the story art project that I left hanging in mid-air after I completed the collections for the Valkyrie Riders Miniseries. And I never got back to animating all the book covers after I tested it out. I really want to make more animated covers. The Draoithe Saga will be more than a story. I promised an experience, and I still intend to deliver one.

That reminds me I haven't updated y'all about The Bargain With Death. I just signed the contract granting permission to publish that story in the Crow Town Anthology. It will come out in March! I will be traditionally published! Yay.

The ebook will eventually self-publish on Ophelia Kee in the Larks North Collection, so no worries. I kept all the rights. The tiger will have things no other way.
