White Witches Have Stories - February 7. 2025
Dear Reader,
How's your February going? Mine started off a little rough. It's better now that the week is behind me, and I have another chance to write.
I have worked hard on completing the serial for Lunar Dark. The character introduction video and the story description video are now available from the Mystic Dark Miniseries. I am currently still editing the story, and should post a quote video soon. The edits have slowed down because of the day job, but I'm still hoping to have this book ready to publish in February.
I don't do preorders anymore because I either finish early and get frustrated or have to rush to meet a deadline. Also, they don't increase profits, so they become an enormous problem with no return on investment.
With my busy job, it's better to create rough plans and use this post to share information. My original goal was to publish on February 15, 2025. I still hope to make that goal. I will publish this book as soon as possible. But it's good to have goals.
Shameless Self Promotion for February

If you love a good beginning of the quest tale, Quest of the Valkyries by Ophelia Kee brings the dark prophecy and dangerous magic of dragons on a quest to the fledgling immortal kingdom of Draoithe. Failure dooms them to an eternity of uselessness. If they succeed, their futures in the dream would be secured with purpose. Everything rests on finding their lost Valkyries.
It’s more than a story; it’s an experience. Welcome to the dream…

Behind the Scenes - On the Writing Front

So while I've been editing in Mystic Dark, a few characters have been chattering in the background. Desdemona Leaveau, Percival the Archmage, and Celeste Alba.
I first met Des and Percy a long time back while I wrote Vampire Lynx and Dragon Rising, but I still don't have their complete story. My mother suggested we needed some dark magic in the stories and first described the Voodoo queen whom Flash wanted to meet to discuss an ancient rare flower as part of treatments for Immortals. Later, after Miles became a Dragon Prince, he lays waste to the Shadow Realm in the Ainglean in retribution for L'Ernest's misconduct toward Soleil and rescues the overtalkative archmage.
Celeste Alba only appeared in the Mystic Dark Prequel Trilogy as the white witch who scried the future for Zanzar Ironwood and taught Rorik Skog Vaettr about herbal medicines. She appears kindhearted, but I think there might be more to her story. I think she knows Desdemona.
I'm apparently not good at introducing side characters without wanting to explore their stories, too. I blame Frank Grimes for that. (The real one, not the book character.) I'm pretty sure it's all her fault. But her suggestion to explore the side characters in stories further has led to a seriously larger and ever-expanding dream.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure at this point these three characters will appear again, but maybe not in Mystic Dark. We shall need to wait and see.

I need to get back to my laundry, it won't dry itself. Leave your comments and questions. I love to hear from you. Thank you for stepping into the dream once more. I hope you have a lovely weekend and will discover a good story. Please remember when you read, be kind and leave your reviews. Until my next post, welcome to the dream...
Be Careful!
Happy Reading,
Ophelia Kee
